Our Community

We respectfully acknowledge that we operate on the traditional, unceded territories of the Coast Salish  sc̓əwaθenaɁɬ təməxʷ, Quw'utsun, W̱SÁNEĆ,  Te’mexw, Stz'uminus, Hul'qumi'num, Snuneymuxw, and Penelakut peoples. We are honored to be living and learning on these traditional territories.

We believe in giving back to the communities in which we operate.  With this in mind,

  • We provide an annual local scholarship award at Gulf Islands Secondary School (GISS) for a graduating student who has faced challenges or adversity while attending School;

  • We participate in the Great Bear Carbon Credit program, purchasing 100 Tons of CO2e to begin to offset the company’s carbon footprint.  Run by Coastal First Nations, this program creates carbon tax credits through the protection of the Great Bear Rainforest.  The revenue generated is then used for stewardship opportunities of 8 coastal First Nations.  We hope that through this program, we can continue to learn, and as well as minimize our environmental impact;

  • We volunteer as guest speakers in the Schools to help the students prepare for life after High School;

  • We are active members of the Salt Spring Island Chamber of Commerce, and

  • We participate in local fundraising activities on the Gulf Islands.
